Mindfulness is all about being alert about your thoughts, your actions, your feelings, your emotions, and more importantly accepting and embracing them.
There are several times that we feel that our “non-dominant” hand is not of too much use, which, in my case is the left hand (I am right-handed); but today I realized that I already do a lot of things with that hand but just didn’t pay too much attention or value it.
I use my left hand for all the shortcut keys on my laptop. While driving, my left hand is constantly used to change gears, my mobile phone is most of the times in my left hand and also while talking the phone is on the left year.
But these are regular things that I do. Today, I tried something new. I ate with my left hand where I felt my motor skills were at task, my focus was different, the hand and mouth coordination was key, the way I was sitting on the dining chair was different, and I was surely more cautious (than usual) about not spilling food or being clumsy. While doing all this, I also had a curious look from my parents who wondered why I was suddenly eating with my left hand.
Have you tried something unusual?
